Every single registered domain has no less than 2 Name Server records that show where it is hosted i.e. by using these records you point your domain to the servers of a specific hosting provider. That way, you've got both your website and your e-mails handled by the same service provider. On the lower level of the Domain Name System (DNS), however, there is a variety of other records, for example A and MX. The former reveals which server deals with the site for a given Internet domain and is always an IP address (123.123.123.123), while the second one shows which server handles the e-mails and is always an alphanumeric string (mx1.domain.com). For instance, any time you type a domain name in your web browser, your request is directed through the global DNS system to the provider whose NS records the domain address uses and from there you will be directed to the servers of a different service provider if you have set an IP address of the latter as an A record for your Internet domain. Having independent records for the website and the emails means you can have your site and your e-mails with two different companies if you'd like.

Custom MX and A Records in Hosting

If you have a Linux hosting from us, you are going to be able to see, set up and change any A or MX record for your domains. Provided that a particular domain has our Name Servers, you are going to be able to to change certain records through our Hepsia hosting Control Panel and have your website or e-mails directed to any other service provider if you would like to use only one of our services. Our state-of-the-art tool is going to enable you to have a domain address hosted here and a subdomain below it to be hosted somewhere else by modifying only its A record - this will not affect the main domain address in any way. If you choose to use the e-mail services of a different service provider and they want you to create more than 2 MX records, you can easily do this with simply a few clicks through the DNS Records section of your CP. You may also set different latency for every single MX record i.e. which one is going to have priority.

Custom MX and A Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting

With the Linux semi-dedicated hosting which we offer, you'll have 100 % control over the records of all domains and subdomains that you add in your hosting account. You can easily check what A and MX records every one of them has using the DNS Records section of the Hepsia hosting CP and editing any record requires as little as a couple of clicks. If you choose to change your web or e-mail hosting provider, you can change the required record and direct your domain address to the other service provider for one of the services, while you still carry on using the other one through us. Also you can keep the main domain name here, while you change the A record of only one of its subdomains. If you're modifying the MX records and you need additional ones on top of the default 2 that we have, you could create them with ease and set a different priority for every single one.
